FAQs

BEK Moving

  • What if I have more than I anticipated?

This situation occurs frequently, and clear communication is essential to minimize stress on moving day. Our administrative team will contact you several times before your move to confirm the quantity of furniture, specific details about each item, and an accurate box count. If you discover you have more or fewer items than expected, please inform us as soon as possible so we can make necessary adjustments to ensure a successful move. Your goal is our goal: a safe and efficient relocation.
  • Do the movers accept tips? If so, what is the average tip?

Yes, gratuity is greatly appreciated when our team has earned it. You can tip based on a percentage of your total bill, similar to other service industries, or an average of $5-$10 per mover per hour, depending on the complexity of your move and your budget. We understand that not everyone is in a position to offer additional compensation, and in those situations, your kindness and appreciation are more than enough.
  • Pricing? Why don't you show pricing? - Because every move is unique

Each move has its own specific requirements. In the past, some companies offered flat rates or bargain pricing based on factors like mover skill level, job difficulty, customer relationships, or profit margins for brokers and drivers. BEK Moving operates differently. Our movers are highly trained professionals who complete an extensive training program to ensure quality and expertise. While our hourly rates are fixed, your quote will be customized to your specific situation. We don't provide quick estimates or standard pricing until we've conducted a comprehensive assessment of your move and determined how we can best serve you.
  • Do you move out of state? How far do you move?

Yes, we provide moving services anywhere within the continental United States, and we're prepared to expand our services wherever our customers need us in the future.
  • Do I have to fill out your questionnaire?

Yes, our questionnaire is required. It has been developed through years of moving experience and is regularly updated to capture critical details that contribute to a successful move. Whether you contact us by phone or email, we'll guide you through our comprehensive move assessment process.
  • How experienced are your moving crews?

Our team of 22 movers averages 3.5 years of experience. All managers have more than 10 years in the moving industry. Individual crew members have between one and seven years of hands-on moving experience. Each employee completes over 100 hours of training before working on any customer move.
  • If a damage occurs, how do you proceed?

Our movers typically identify any damage immediately and report it to our operations team. We then work quickly to determine the best solution. Depending on the situation, we may be able to repair the damage ourselves, offer a deduction from your bill, or arrange for professional repair or replacement. We partner with industry experts who can handle most repair needs. To date, we have successfully resolved every issue that has resulted from our moves.
  • Do I have to empty out all of my furniture, dressers, fridge, freezer, etc.?

Yes, furniture should be moved in the condition the manufacturer intended: empty and properly protected.
  • Are you able to hold my belongings overnight?

Yes, we offer overnight storage with applicable fees. We typically don't hold belongings for more than two days.
  • How soon should I book my move?

We recommend booking as early as possible. Once you've selected your moving company and feel confident in your choice, commit to your move date right away. It's much easier to accommodate changes when you've already secured your spot on our schedule than to wait until the last minute and risk limited availability.
